Irene Fabbri started her art by modeling clay in 2010, at the Academy of Fine Arts -in Florence, Italy.
Since 2013, she began to experience co-working and learning from different artists in a sort of ateliers, developing her acknowledgement as a ceramicist. In Orgiva, Spain, she has assisted the ceramists Angel Vera and Rogelio Rodríguez in their work, sharing also her knowledge.
After a year of international Mediterranean experience, in 2014, she launched her first personal line of clay jewellery, under the name of Vagalume, where she has included –for the first time- metal in her art. Here, Irene created fresh and colourful small pieces of art made of clay, copper and brass, whilst exhibiting a successful collection that has awaken her full interest as a jeweller.
From 2015 to 2017, she made a step change in her studies and knowledge, by starting at Mia Llauder and Joan Serra’s school –Escuela de Cerámica del Cantir, in Argentona (Spain). Meanwhile, she was studying jewellery under the direction of Tanja Fontane -in Barcelona, Spain.
Irene has been specializing her work with porcelain and silver, bringing new shapes into an elegant atmosphere.
Irene Fabbri’s jewels are being sold in the Atelier Ceramiche sull’Acquain Portoferraio, Italy.
She lives and works between two countries, Italy and Australia.
